Folk Festival

Hello my friends around Europe,

This weekend I went to a special event in Yorkshire. It is called the Holmfirth Folk Festival. Many dancers and musicians travel to Yorkshire so they can perform.

Here are some of the 'Morris' dancers we saw. They use the sticks in their dances by hitting them together!

This Morris dancer was bit of a joker. He danced between the other dancers while they waved their sticks in the air. I thought he would get hurt! 

These morris dancers came all the way from Canada! Their costumes were covered in rags.

Here I am, having a go at Morris dancing. The dancers had ribbons just like mine!

Billy the horse!

Hello my friends around Europe.

This weekend I am visiting my friend's house.  She lives in a house behind a farm and the horse comes to visit every day. Here I am feeding an apple to 'Billy'! Billy ran all the way across the field when we shouted his name.

Van Cat swimming

Hello my European friends,

I enjoyed my day out at the swimming pool. The children visit the pool every Friday so they can learn how to swim!

Unfortunately, I fell into the pool and now my fur is a little bit soggy!

Breakfast club

Hello my friends around Europe,

I am missing  you all so much. I can't wait to see some of the children and teachers in Romania.

Today, I visited the school breakfast club.

The National Lottery gave school some money to set up a breakfast club. About 60 children come every day.

Here are some of my friends eating their toast with Nutella.

They do lots of fun activities. I played on some of the Ipads with the boys.

The girls were embroidering and asked me to have a go. I couldn't hold the needle so I decided to chase the thread. It was so much fun.

They even had some fun floor games to play!

Soon it was time to go to our classroom. My class is taking me to swimming lessons this morning. We have to travel on a coach to the pool. 

I'll let you know how I get on later.

I hope my tail doesn't get wet!

Cinderella!

Hello Friends!

We have been on a trip to Shibden Hall.  We met Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother.  We got to help Cinderella get ready for the ball.  Magic!

The Elves and the Shoemaker

A trip to a nature reserve!

Hello Friends at home and around Europe,

Today class 4 took me on a fantastic trip to the Old Moor Nature Reserve. It is a place where animals can live safely.

Here I am with my friends at the main entrance! I am sitting on a robin bird.

My class found out all about food chains. They even let me be part of one although I did tried to explain that I wouldn't eat any of the birds.

The teacher took us to the woodland where we collected information about the habitat.

We used temperature sensors and light sensors to make readings.

It was really fun exploring the woodlands. Can you see where I am hiding?

Here are some of the minibeasts and insects we collected using paintbrushes!

I even made friends with some of the English birds: blue tits, chaffinches, robins and blackbirds. Each bird had a unique chirp.

Here i am oberving the birds at the Wetlands hideaway!

My friends helped me to use the binoculars. It was a little bit scary because the Canada geese looked massive.

Here I am supervising some of my friends while they went pond-dipping. Don't get too close or you might fall in!

We found lots of unusual bugs in the water but no tasty fish for me!

Well, off home we go. It has been a fantastic day. I will write back soon to tell you about more of my adventures.
